We are students in Agricultural Technology depertment in Itoshima Agricultural High School. We are doing the following activites:disease diagnosis,enlightenment activity resercrh and study. Our motto is"Protect agricultural field in the world".We would like to contribute to the development of agriculture.
About Clubroot
Clubroot caused by Plasmodiophora brassicae and is a serious disease of cruciferrous vegetable production. It causes swellings to form on the roots, which causes premature death of the plant due to the malfunction of their roots. Although yied loss is dependent on verious factors,the economic loss can reach as high as 100%. In addition to these facts,this disease lasts for ten years once the plant has become infected and it is easily spread through flood or infected soil.

Our Study
We are trying to invent a new countermeasure to prevent clubroot disease becouse a large amount of pesticide application is not practicable from the viewpoint of sustainable agricluture. We think that it is important to control the percentage of P.brassicae in the total of soil bacteria. We found that one species of lactobacillus can suppress the clubroot outbreak. It's patent is pending.
